When I was in college, I thought I was doing all the “right” things – training for hours daily, overconsuming carbs through a vegetarian diet, and always feeling exhausted. I was frustrated that I was eating “healthy” and working out yet, feeling tired and not seeing my desired results.
After my first class with Dr. Donald Layman, I realized what I was missing; I was not paying attention to how much protein I ate throughout the day. Once I became intentional about the timing and amount of protein I was consuming, everything else seemed to fall into place. I had more energy, recovered faster, and had fewer cravings. My daily routine used to feel like I had to drag myself to complete each task.
By making an intentional effort to hit my protein needs consistently, I started to feel in control of my mental and physical health, and you can too!
